It takes 21 days to make or break a habit

I'm not a smoker, but there's something about a photograph or artwork of a beautiful woman smoking... it makes her mysterious in a way, and gives her a certain power or confidence you can't place.

I recently painted a woman in a similar style which I liked, so I decided to research pop-art which inspired me to create this. (Pinterest is an amazing place to start if you're stuck for inspiration!)

Please take a look below at my process:

I started by sketching a faint outline using a 4H pencil, I find it's best to use a H rather than a B otherwise it  shows through the paint and it smudges. I then added acrylic paint, starting with her skin. I like to mix my own paints rather than using pre-made colours, this way I can mix the exact colour I want. (This can sometimes take a few attempts to get the right shade and I almost always use more paint than I need!)

After this I outlined her face and hair with black paint, and afterwards I used a fine liner black pen just to make the edges sharper and thicker.

After that I added blue acrylic to her hair, and painted a background just to make her pop out a bit more!
